About Us

IMG_4758.jpeg

We are Ian and Becky and we live at Ledmacoy Farm in Strathdon, Aberdeenshire with our three children - Maisie, Barney and Rosie. We are the third generation of Stuarts to farm at Ledmacoy, with Ian’s father Peter still farming daily now in
his eighties.

Our core business is in sheep and cattle farming, along with a successful enterprise of rearing free range bronze turkeys for the Christmas market.

Every year we lamb over 700 breeding ewes between April to May in our two poly tunnels. We also have 90 breeding cattle, which the calves are sold as store cattle when they are a year old.

Our 300 turkeys arrive on the farm in June as 1-day old poults and once they are 8 weeks old start free ranging in their grassy paddock and shelter at night in our poly tunnel.

We also grow barley, make silage and hay seasonally to feed our cattle and sheep during the winter months.

We pride ourselves on the highest welfare and husbandry standards and are proud members of the
Quality Assured Beef and Lamb Scheme and a member of the Golden Turkey Association.

We are very proud that our turkeys have been awarded Great Taste stars for four consecutive years running for their supreme taste and quality.

Many of our guests enjoy our complimentary farm tour so they can experience first hand how a family farm works on a daily basis, especially when they get to feed our pet lambs at lambing time!
