Ledmacoy Farm is set on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, Aberdeenshire, on the side of the Nochty Glen, with stunning views up and down the valley and the river below. Its remote location makes it a perfect to get away for the rigors of daily life and reconnect with nature and relax. There are plenty of local walks and cycling opportunities on your doorstep or a short drive away.

Places to visit

Here are some of our favourite places to visit.

  • Lonach Highland Games – Our local Highland Games, always the 4th Saturday in August. Steeped in tradition, follow The Highlanders on their march around the glen and then enjoy watching all the events in the arena.

  • Burn O’Vat – A lovely walk to discover an example of a pothole created by a glacial ice sheet over 16,000 years ago. Located next to Loch Kinord, near Dinnet, only a 20-minute drive away.

  • Balmoral – Visit the Queen’s Scottish resident, Balmoral Castle, Royal Deeside.

  • Kildrummy Castle  - Aberdeenshire is well known for its abundance of castles and Kildrummy Castle is an excellent example of a castle from the 13th century and a short 10-minute drive away.

  • Corgarff Castle - Corgarff Castle is Tower House set within stunning scenery and made all the more impressive by the stark white-washed colour scheme and distinctive star-shaped perimeter wall.

  • Lecht Ski Centre – Our local ski centre, only 12 miles drive. It is great of beginners or experienced skiers, with a ski school and equipment hire available.
